The adidas YEEZY saga returns in February 2015 with Kanye West’s first-ever sneaker release with his sub-label. The high-end Yeezy Boost 750 sent major shockwaves for its radically divergent debut as it delivered a premium Chelsea boot-like sneaker in an era dominated by performance wear. While the 750 deserves its rightful accolade as the first-ever YEEZY release, many place more importance on the Yeezy Boost 350, the low-top sneaker that debuted months later in June.
The 350 has since grown into a massive enterprise on its own, rivaling the Air Jordan 1 as the most ubiquitous “signature” shoe on the market. Most of what exists is the v2 iteration, a slightly revamped version of the original that has since proliferated in nearly every earth colorway imaginable. Only four versions of the original Yeezy Boost 350 have been released – Turtle Dove, Pirate Black, Moonrock and Oxford Tan – and have never been re-released once. However, recently leaked images from leaked Yeezy account @yeezymic reveal a fabric swatch with lace holes identical to the gray-on-black pattern seen on Turtle Dove Yeezys.
While nothing is confirmed, this unexpected development logically leads Yeezy fanatics to believe that a Yeezy Boost 350 “Turtle Dove” re-release is in the works. It could also mean that YEEZY reuses this Turtle Dove pattern and material on a different shoe like the Yeezy Boost 350 v2. Stay tuned for more on this development and catch up on all the other Yeezy 2022 release dates.
