BTS’s Jimin reveals struggles as young K-pop artist, fans want to hug him

Overwhelmed by the love BTS received from ARMY across the world, Jimin gives a special mention to the fans who have supported BTS throughout this difficult time. In his last Weverse interview in 2020, Jimin opened up about how much he is the type of person who wants to be loved in everything he does. He is also grateful for the ARMYs’ reaction to their recent songs.

In his interview with Weverse Magazine in 2021, Jimin was the last member whose interview was uploaded to Weverse. Speaking about his past, Jimin reflected on how his mental well-being had been affected because he overthought what people thought of him. He went on to say, “I am me, and there is also a separate me that works, but it’s hard to tell the two apart,” speaking more in depth about how artists merge with their work.

ARMYs light up Jimin’s life

Asked about fan reactions to their most recent songs like “Butter” and “Permission to Dance,” Jimin said he was grateful for the way fans responded to their songs – they brightened his life. He loves the way fans interact with the videos in the form of dance covers, musical covers and dance challenges. Watching everyone enjoy the songs was rewarding for everyone at BTS. Of all their recent songs, “Permission to Dance” contained a special message of a fresh start, which also comforted Jimin. The song’s hopeful words lifted Jimin’s spirits and encouraged him in hopes of meeting fans soon.

Jimin says he’s always wanted to follow his heart and does so by conveying his honest feelings to others. Even though BTS’s new singles were all in English and followed similar lines of upbeat and fun dance music, Jimin maintains that they are all different songs. He says the attitude he adopted for each of the songs was different, as well as the emotions he felt and the thought process he went through to perform those songs were very different. He explained how challenging singing in English was: “Even the pronunciation is definitely different, and the part of your throat where the sound comes from changes depending on the pronunciation. I think that’s why I was a little confused, ”Jimin said.

While talking about his growth as a person and as an artist, Jimin said their music has grown with them as well. He spoke of a time when he was vulnerable, saying, “When I couldn’t let things go, my resentment kept growing. So did my pain.” He went on to say that these are not the same boys who first performed on stage, but who have become self-reflective individuals. When asked how he handled his struggles, he said talking to his parents had helped him a lot. Jimin said, “I shared how I felt with them, and my mom and dad spoke to me like they were my life coaches.” He adds that by making changes to themselves, BTS is also encouraging fans to change and grow with BTS. He says that while it’s impossible to address each fan individually, it will be worth the wait to meet fans in person and converse with them singing, shouting and looking each other in the eye.

What is it like to play without ARMYs?

Speaking in particular about the new concerts without an audience while also addressing the struggles an artist goes through, Jimin says learning from the mistakes they made on stage and how fans reacted to them was a very genuine comeback, of which he needs. Without being able to see the fans in person, playing wholeheartedly for the ARMYs gives fans one more reason to support the boys.

Jimin also talks about the Grammy nomination. It’s good that they didn’t win because he knows they will continue to train to improve and do a lot better for the ARMYs. Speaking in more depth about how the performances came about without fan feedback, Jimin reiterated that he would always use audience feedback to train himself to do better. He then goes on to say that being in the money business at a very young age, he forced himself to pay attention to what he was saying. He says that because he’s young he maintains a level of respect for people older than him, but now that he’s growing up he knows that not all concerns for him come from a good place.

‘I’m still proud and happy for you, Jimin’

Fans were quick to gush to Twitter with their reactions to the article. One fan said: “After reading Jimin’s weverse magazine, I want to give him the tightest hug ever. I love him so much.” Another fan opened up about the infamous jumper jacket Jimin mentioned in the interview, praising his commitment, saying, “It’s gorgeous. It makes you think of Jimin’s courage, his commitment, his loyalty to his profession, the people, the things that are dear to him. A Jimin fan complimented him and said, “I am always proud and happy for you, Jimin.” while another got emotional and said, “I just reread the Jimin ‘Weverse magazine interview and started crying my God, I love him”,

While a few fans were stunned by Jimin’s shoe choice, they expressed their love for his shoe choice, saying, “Can we also talk about the boots Jimin wore for his interview photoshoot with weverse magazine? … God he has to wear more boots like these. ”And another clearly mentioned,“ I want the shoes Jimin wore for that Weverse interview. ”
