The affiliation agreement between Chicago fire FC and Forward Madison FC has entered into its first three loan agreements.
The Fire announced today that they are sending three local teenagers to play for the USL League One squad: forward Alex Monis, midfielder Allan Rodriguez and goalkeeper Chris Brady.
Fire chief coach Raphael Wicky did not include Monis, Rodriguez and Brady on the roster who traveled to Orlando for the MLS is Back tournament. Instead, they were sent to train with Forward Madison.
“They’ve been with us since July 2,” forward Madison coach Daryl Shore said in a Facebook question-and-answer session with fans. “We are thrilled with all three. And now, with the ill-fated Fire tournament exit from the MLS is Back tournament, we don’t really know if we can expect a few more players to come in. “
Shore was a longtime assistant coach with the Fire.
Forward Madison opens his cut season Saturday with an away game against North Texas SC. All three players will be eligible for the match. The forward will play all eight home games this season at Hart Park in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The games were moved away from Forward’s usual home ground, Breese Stevens Field in Madison, as officials in Dane County, Wisconsin would not allow the games to take place there due to the pandemic.
Brady, 16, was signed as the 19th home player in club history on March 24. A native of Naperville, Ill., Brady initially joined the Chicago Fire Academy in 2017. While at the Fire Academy, Brady made 48 appearances (48 starts) at the U-14, U-15, U-16 levels. and U-17.
Monis, 17, joined the Fire’s first team as the 18th home player in club history on March 11. Hailing from Naperville, Ill., Monis has been with the club since 2015, in the Fire Juniors and Academy programs. Before signing with the first team, Monis made 78 appearances (67 starts). In 19 appearances (18 starts) for the Academy, Monis has scored ten goals and added two assists.
Rodríguez, 16, became the 20th local player to sign in club history on March 25. After being identified by Indiana Fire Academy recruiting staff, the Elkhart, Indiana native joined the Indiana Fire in the fall of 2017. In January 2019, Rodríguez transferred to the Chicago Fire Academy , making 21 appearances (15 starts).
