ATTEMPT to remove stubborn stains from your favorite pair of shoes can sometimes leave you with no choice but to throw them away, especially if it’s a white pair.
But luckily, there are plenty of cleaning forums online, where hundreds of other experts and everyday people come together to share their best cleaning hacks.
Cleaning Tips and Tricks on Facebook, is one of the places many Britons across the country will go for help and advice on cleaning hacks.
Mom Julia Louise shared a hack on the band, and hundreds of people couldn’t believe it.
She discovered the cheap trick of using shaving foam to remove stubborn stains from her daughter’s dirty white Converse shoes.
In the post, she wrote, “Shaving foam! Absolute bargain!
“My little girl jumped in a huge puddle of mud with her bright white canvas shoes on! I tried the shaving foam and this is the result!
“They’re not perfect, but 10,000x better and won’t need to be lumped together.
“For everyone asking how, I dampened the shoes, then scrubbed with the shaving foam and a sponge, soaked for 30 minutes then put them in the machine on a 40 wash.”
The post received hundreds of people who interacted with it, thanking it for sharing the tip.
Julia said she used Gillette from Home Bargains and it cost her 90p.
Other people commenting who are already aware of the hack, also say “foam is better” than gel.
And to clean shoelaces, another cleaning fan commented on the post, saying, “I always soak mine in Flash bleach in a container overnight.”
