Tri Kappa Presents the 5th Annual Anabel Wood Memorial Outdoor Painting

ROCKPORT — Tri-Kappa invites artists to visit Rockport for a one-day competition to create works of art. The contest will take place at Gideon Hall, Trinity Methodist Church in Rockport on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

The first prize winner will receive $1,000.

Second place will receive $500. Third place will receive $300.

A $30 registration fee is due prior to the event.

Spencer County Community Foundation and is held in conjunction with Lincoln Pioneer Village Pioneer Days.

Candidates night

GRANDVIEW – The Farm Bureau and the Grandview Civic Association will host a Candidates Night on Tuesday, October 25 at the Civic Center in Grandview. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, so come meet your candidates and ask questions. Refreshments will be served.

Fall Heritage Day

ROCKPORT – Join the Lincoln Pioneer Village and Museum on Saturday, October 29 for their Fall Heritage Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event celebrates the rich history of Spencer County and Lincoln’s formative years spent here. Enjoy costumed performers, demonstrators, children’s activities, music, food and more. Admission is $5 per adult and $3 for seniors and children under 12.

Medicine cabinet cleaning day

Spencer County – The Spencer County SWMD is hosting a Medicine Cabinet Clean-Up Day on Saturday, October 29 from 8 a.m. to noon. Drop off at VFD: Dale, Rockport, Santa Claus, St. Meinrad.

DALE — Below are some of Lincoln Heritage Public Library’s upcoming adult programs:

10/20 at 5 p.m., Yoga with Angie — Each week we do a beginner’s yoga workout that is suitable for all fitness levels.

24/10 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Halloween party – Join us for a friendly and family-friendly Halloween party! This party is open house style and will include refreshments, games, a photo backdrop and more.

10/25 at 5 p.m., 5k class — Last month we learned how to walk properly. This month we are learning to walk a little faster. There will be a monthly incentive offered at the 2nd class this month and at each class you attend you can put your name in a draw for a $50 shoe gift certificate.

10/27, 5 p.m., Yoga with Angie — Each week we do a beginner’s yoga workout that’s suitable for all fitness levels.

10/31 at 5 p.m., Chair exercises — Very fun seated exercises! We do everything from chair aerobics to chair Zumba.

Children’s days

FERDINAND – Explore pumpkins and more during “Kids Days” for fun, family-friendly and FREE activities during the fall. Kids of all ages can enjoy pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin smashing, wagon rides, games and more. Every Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Fall Fun Festival

LINCOLN CITY – Lincoln State Park presents the Fall Fun Festival Saturday, October 29, from noon to 3 p.m. Join them for fall activities including hay rides, crafts, pumpkin painting and more.

Cornerstone UMC Flagship Saturday

CHRISNEY — Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Chrisney hosts a Beacon program every Saturday night. The program begins at 5 p.m. and includes a meal, music and a message. This program is free and everyone is welcome.

Junior Ranger Party at the Farm

LINCOLN CITY – This “night on the farm” event at the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial on Oct. 29 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. will allow visitors to experience life as Lincoln did 200 years ago. Rangers and their families will tour the park in the dark and experience the living historic farmhouse lit by candles and lanterns.

Guests will explore the farm, learn from park rangers and volunteers, watch demonstrations, make corn dolls, and more. All activities are weather permitting. Participants will earn a Junior Ranger pin for their efforts. FREE ENTRANCE.

Yellig Park Candy Trail

SANTA – Head to Jim Yellig Park on Sunday, October 30 for a ride or treat along the trail! Load your pumpkins with candy while you enjoy activities, games, face painting, pumpkin painting, costume contests and more.
