Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas has joined Adidas and will release a signature shoe soon.

Adidas will soon officially launch the “Gil Zero” shoe. The pair of kicks will also feature the improved boost cushioning. He is renamed “Agent Gil”.

The first edition of the shoes, themed “Hibachi”, will be launched on June 6.

It looks like plenty of NBA fans will be trying to get their hands on a pair of new shoes from Arenas.

“One of my favorite players is having his shoe relaunched the day after my birthday? It’s about time,” said one fan.

“Oh man they did. I’ll probably end up getting a pair of these,” another fan commented.

“Give me two pairs, I need two pairs…” one fan tweeted.

On the other hand, it’s a pretty bizarre move by Adidas to relaunch a signature shoe for a player who hasn’t been in the NBA for a while now.

“Interesting approach to bringing back a shoe that no one cared about the first time around,” one fan wrote.

“Resurrecting a failed signature sneaker from a ringless NBA player that is no longer relevant to Gilbert Arenas is a pretty bold move by adidas lol,” one fan said.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Adidas makes a lot of money from these. Gilbert Arenas, meanwhile, is certainly getting a bargain.
