From its original year of 1982 to the current year of 2022, Air Force 1 has undergone forty years of change, both internal and external. Beginning as the Air Force 1 High four decades ago, the Bruce Kilgore-designed sneaker has traversed its own peaks and valleys, though every Air Force 1 fan has their own personal timeline with the shoe. Whether it’s been your AF1s since the ’80s or your first white-on-whites last year, the Air Force 1 holds historic significance to the Sportswear brand’s core business.
This upcoming men’s Air Force 1 Mid LX, colored in Shimmer, Pale Ivory and Coconut, details the official Air Force 1 timeline. 1983 marks the first Air Force 1 Low, 1994 marks the introduction of the Mid, 2001 the first exclusive to women, and so on. All of this is detailed in a typed tongue tag that doubles as a vintage store receipt. On the insoles is an illustration of two beavers, likely nodding at the AF1 connection to Beaverton, OR – where the shoes were made – and Vietnam – where the shoes were made.
Currently, a release is expected in August, although we are waiting to confirm release details as delays continue to be the norm.
