Vintage fashion, like Dunks, has seen an astronomical resurgence of interest over the past couple of years. And many – especially DIY enthusiasts – have taken their own shoes and forcibly aged them to better complement the Carhartt Detroit jackets and worn double knees they salvaged. But if you’d rather not risk ruining your own Dunks, Nike has a solid alternative with this next low colorway.
A series of âVast Grayâ fixtures first set the tone, enveloping the forefoot, profile and heel in suede that could easily pass for velvet. Under the foot and just above the gaps, a “Voile” marks the tread and tongue respectively, better matching the cream undertones that appear on the toe, center panel and collar. Everything then sits on a white midsole, which – unlike the gray liner and branding elsewhere – could easily be tweaked for a more retro feel.
