Thanks to stylish joint efforts with brands like Converse, New Balance and LLBean, everyone can recognize Todd Snyder’s admiration for classic silhouettes. However, what may surprise you is the fact that the New York-based brand has yet to unveil its own footwear…until today, of course. Fusing their knowledge of clothing essentials with a passion for craftsmanship, the famed designer brand unveiled the Nomad boot, and the results are clear.
The new release features a very traditional desert boot look, much of which is due in part to its rich Italian calf suede makeup. Not only does its textile come from the Bel Paese, but each beautiful pair is crafted from heel to toe in Italy. The Nomad sits on a rubber sole that measures less than half an inch, is finished with a set of round cotton laces and comes in four subtle colors: Tobacco, Tan, Aloe and Seppia.
It would be easy to say that the decade-old label chose to play it safe with its first original shoe release, but that would be overlooking what Todd Snyder does best. As one of the most versatile names in modern menswear, the brand’s allegiance to sartorial pieces and the epitome of Americana has led to the creation of an extensive catalog, and this new pair of chukkas are another stellar showcase of the brand’s ethos.
While we wouldn’t expect this to be Snyder’s last shoe, the fact that it’s the first is enough of a step to consider adding a pair to your spring wardrobe. Todd Snyder’s Nomad boot is available now for $248 on the brand’s website.
