Palace and Kappa invite you to party like in 1999 with the launch of their first collaborative collection for fall 2021.
Imagine this. It’s 2015; you first walk into the Antwerp mansion in Manchester, sipping a red stripe and admiring the graffiti on the walls, the bathroom doors won’t lock and you’re surrounded by Kappa zippers, Ralph Lauren caps, Palace x adidas Puffers and Supreme shoulder bags. Life is Beautiful.
This is the feeling that gives me the first collaboration of Palace and Kappa. Although the collection combines an English and Italian brand, everything is clearly British and nostalgic.
I imagine this is due to the nature of Kappa’s logo stripe tracksuits being synonymous with ’90s British football and rave culture. Oh and People do nothing.
The timelessness of the brand is indisputable. You’ll find a logo or two during festival season as easily as flipping through old family photos.
Through his collaborations with adidas and Evisu, Palace successfully immortalized the 90s and early 2000s, creating a moodboard of the British youth subculture.
With Kappa, Palace has developed a series of jerseys, tracksuits, caps and accessories that are both standard and unique. To achieve this, Palace dug deep into the Kappa archives in Italy.
All essential sportswear is covered, from the classic V-neck soccer jersey with co-branded badges and old-fashioned patterns to the iconic Kappa 222 Banda tracksuit and soccer shoe bag.
The Palace x Kappa Fall 2021 collection is scheduled to release December 3 online and in Palace stores in London, NYC, LA and Tokyo, as well as Dover Street Market London and LA.
