Sean Wotherspoon has been relatively quiet for the past six months, at least when it comes to his partnership with adidas. Recently, the second-round supplier took to Instagram to preview his upcoming adidas Gazelle collab.
Aligned with the German sportswear giant’s concerted push for design from 1966 (which recently included a collaboration with Gucci), Wotherspoon’s latest adidas Originals offering brings the multicolored, vegan-patterned “SW” twist to one of the most important silhouettes of the company. Corduroy in an off-white color covers the entire base layer of the sneaker, with suede arriving on the 3-Stripe profile and around the tongue. Midsoles are given a semi-translucent finish that allows for playful low-top shoe rotation, along with summer-ready graphics that take over so they don’t get cut. Cork insoles make their way to the pair, continuing the eco-friendly design method that is SUPEREARTH, although velor slippers are still on the way according to the American designer.
Enjoy teaser images of Wotherspoon’s upcoming adidas-backed project and look forward to a CONFIRMED adidas launch before the end of the year.
